Applying Your Nematodes

Nemaslug and Nemasys products are applied in an easy to make solution either to the ground where the pest is to be found or sprayed directly on to the pest. Easy to follow instructions are to be found on every pack.

All products, except for Nemasys Caterpillar Killer and Nemasys Grow Your Own Pest Control are applied to the ground.

Nemasys Caterpillar Killer is applied as a spray directly on to the pest. Applying Nemasys Grow Your Own Pest Control depends on the pest you are targeting. This handy chart shows you which method to choose.

For application to the ground, there are two methods you can choose from:

Watering can application
Hose end feeder application

Watering can application

To apply with a watering can make sure you use a coarse rose so the nematodes can wash through the holes. It's easiest to do this when you water your plants at the beginning or end of the day so that it fits in with your normal gardening routine.

Shake the pack well
Cut carefully through the top of the pack and divide the powder (which contains the nematodes) in to the number of portions indicated on the pack.
Put one portion in a 2 gallon/5 litre watering can and add water.
Stir as you add the water to make sure the nematodes are well mixed.
Apply the solution to the area to be treated (as per the pack).
Apply an equal amount of water to the same area to make sure the nematodes are well washed in.

To apply with a pump sprayer

Shake the pack well.
Cut carefully through the top of the pack and divide the powder (which contains the nematodes) in to the number of portions indicated on the pack.
Put one portion in a pump sprayer and fill up with water.
Apply the solution to the plants to be treated (as per the pack), making sure you apply directly to hit the target pest.
